North West Ireland Hidden Gems Golf Trip
Pound for pound, the North West Ireland golf trip is possibly the best in Ireland. We do not say that lightly, given the sheer quality of the many world-class links you will find dotted around Ireland’s coastline.
Donegal (Murvagh) on the southern part of the loop, is built on a promontory of 182 acres that extends out into the Atlantic Ocean. Travel further north and west to Narin & Portnoo Links, which has recently been modified by world-renowned architect Gil Hanse.
Add in the three courses at Rosapenna, namely, St Patrick's Links which is a recent addition to Golf Magazine's Top 100, The Old Tom Morris, thrilling golfers since 1893, and The Sandy Hills Links, a stunning addition by designer Pat Ruddy which opened in 2003.
For good measure, play Portsalon on the Fanad peninsula, described as links golf at its very best, and both the Old Links and the Glashedy Links at Ballyliffin, to round off a week of golf as natural as one could find anywhere on the planet.
